Tour the Masonic Temple & Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts’ Historic Landmark Building

Join us for an evening of architecture, history and storytelling in two of the most extraordinary buildings in Philadelphia: the Masonic Temple and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts’ (PAFA), Historic Landmark Building. Guests will experience highlights of both buildings led by experts in the history and architecture of the two institutions. The event will culminate with a wine, beer and cheese reception on the rooftop terrace of PAFA’s Hamilton building. Tickets are limited.

Cost is $75 for the general public and $65 for PA Masons.

The tour will start at the Masonic Temple, which was constructed in 1873 and is considered a great architectural wonder. Containing artwork, frescos, stained glass, murals and sculptures,  it connects both Masons and non-Masons to an inspirational world of art, architecture and history. In addition, there is an exhibit hall featuring a wide assortment of artifacts relating to the history of the Masonic fraternity in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and beyond.

PAFA’s Historic Landmark Building (HLB) is considered one of the finest surviving examples of Victorian Gothic architecture in America. Built by the Philadelphia firm of Frank Furness and George Hewitt, the HLB rises 70 feet above street level, and opened to the public on April 22, 1876. The HLB houses exhibition space, as well as classroom space for the School of Fine Arts, in addition to historic Cast Hall.
